PRAYER POINTS FOR WEEK OF FEBRUARY 8


Prayer Points for the week of February 8, 2009

Psalm 63:1-8 Please pray for the people using Psalm 63 as a guide:

Declare and proclaim that He is God; He is our God. Earnestly seek Him, thirst for Him and long for Him. (vs.1)

Pray that the people would cry out in their distress and earnestly seek the face of God with a longing to embrace his promises and purposes. (vs.1)

Pray that the people would have a revelation of the power and glory of God at work in their lives. Declare that we shall see the glory of God and experience His power as we seek to know Him. (vs.2)

Pray that the people would have a revelation of the love of God that is better than life and that we would praise Him with uplifted hands and singing lips. (vs.4-5) May they remember Him and think of Him even through the watches of the night. (vs.6)

Declare that we shall find rest, satisfaction and even sing in the shadow of His wings. Pray that we would cling to Him as His right hand upholds us and as we trust Him and find our help in Him alone. (vs.7-8)

Pray that the people, by revelation of the Holy Spirit, would have ears to perceive, eyes to see and minds to conceive what God has prepared for those who love Him. (1 Cor.2:8)

Exodus 3:13-17 (vs.14-15) “I am who I am…this is my name forever, the name by which I am to be remembered from generation to generation.”

Intercede for those who feel they have failed in such a way that does not allow them to serve God. Declare God’s word over them that they are God’s workmanship, a masterpiece, a priceless work of art in God’s eyes. That they have been re-created fully equipped to do good and what God requires all that He has prepared in advance for us to do. (Eph 2:16)

Pray that we would stop running from God, running to Him instead, allowing Him to restore us and turn our failures into grace.

Pray that we would allow Jesus and the word of God to define us and not our failures. That we would take His name and be reminded that He is bigger than any failure and will work all things together for good in all situations, good and bad. (Rom 8:28)

Pray that we would allow every failure to lead us into a greater revelation of the character of God.

Pray that we would turn our failures to success by taking the grace we’ve been given and helping others.

A "SPECIAL" THANKS - GIVING BACK



GIVING BACK
Several weeks ago a request went out to the M.O.M.S. group, Calvary deaconesses, as well as friends and neighbors to help a young mom in need. This young mom was 8 months pregnant and sleeping on an air mattress and living in a home without furniture and household necessities.

Many of you came together to help her out and shared what you had. Romans 12:6-7 "We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. If a man's gift is ... contributing, to the needs of others, let him give generously."

"THANK YOU ALL and remember CARING IS SHARING". "And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased." Hebrews 13:16

HI ALL!!!!!
I want to take this time to thank all of you who helped out with my neighbor. I had so many of you come together and help her out!!! She was so blessed by all of you. She went from having an empty house to having a fully furnished house. Here is a list of some of the things that you all helped out with.....

There really are so many things I can't believe how much all of you helped out. We had a mom who helped out tremendously by renting a Penske truck so we could actually get all of this stuff. My husband along with other couples helped to load the truck, and get it all of the big furniture to them in one day. Again thank you all so much. It was amazing to see all of God's people pulling together to help out a family in need. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!!!! The only thing that they are still in need of is a queen mattress/box spring. PRAYER POINTS FOR THE WEEK OF FEBRUARY 1, 2009



Thank God for His plans and purposes for our lives and for Calvary Church. Thank Him that He is in control and that He will accomplish His plans.

May we take hold of God’s plans and ask that He would have His way in our lives. God not only has a plan for us He has a plan for Satan and has limited him and controls what he can do. Satan fights but he knows he is defeated (Matt 16:18) and that the gates of hell will not prevail. His destiny is already determined. (Matt 25:41 and Rev. 20:10) Luke 10:19 reminds us that we have authority to overcome all the power of the enemy.

Pray that we would accept the authority given us and stand in that position of authority to overcome the power of Satan and his plan to kill, steal and destroy God’s people.

Pray that we would run the race marked out for us in victory knowing that as we encounter the enemy along the way that we have authority over him and he is defeated. Hebrew 11:8-10; Genesis 15:5-18

Pray that the church would choose to live by faith and begin by hearing God’s voice. Pray that we would hear the word of the Lord even if it is a difficult word and not what we want to hear. Pray that God would change our hearts that we might hear and discern His voice. Pray that we would also receive the dream and have a heart that is open to God doing what we might think is impossible in our lives.

Pray that we would embrace His promises and be open to all its possibilities according to God’s sovereign rule and plans. Pray that we would be willing to let go of our past and the things we are comfortable with and say “yes” to God allowing Him to take us to a new place.

Pray that we would walk in faith even when we can’t see what God is doing and when discouragement and despair seem greater than the promise. Fight off the enemy “the buzzards” (Gen 15:11) that would try to steal our promises. Push back and push through the darkness and defend the commitment of the people to honor God and do what is right. As intercessors hold up their hands and ask God to give them victory over Satan and his lies.

Pray that God would intervene and that His name would be lifted up and exalted for His name’s sake. Pray that we would hold things lightly and look to the hope we have in God’s greatest promise of heaven and eternal communion with Him.

Pray that we would be willing to leave who we are to take the life he is offering even though we may walk through valleys knowing they are only temporary. “To him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy—to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen Jude 24

Prayer Points for Week of January 25

PRAYER POINTS FOR THE WEEK OF JANUARY 25, 2009

Phil 4:12-13 “I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do everything through him who gives me strength.”

Celebrate this week what God has already given you. Pray we would be a church that remembers God’s blessings and rejoices in what He has done. Pray that we would look at what we have and not what we lack and be willing to change our attitudes and our heart.

Pray that we would make a conscious decision to be content in every situation and know that we can do all things through him who gives us strength. Pray also that we would use wisely what God has already given us so that we are ready to receive the next blessing.

Mark 16:20 “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.”…. “Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied it.”

Pray that we would allow God to use us and that the Great Commission would be at work through Calvary Church. Pray that we would be witnesses, missionaries and intercessors so that the kingdom of God would be advanced. Pray we would see the oppressed delivered, the sick healed, marriages restored and people filled with the Holy Spirit.

Malachi 3:1-4; 16-18

Pray that we would allow God’s refining fire to purify us. Pray we would return to him and not be moved or fearful of the trials before us but embrace them as opportunities to experience the goodness and faithfulness of God in our lives.

Pray that we would get ready for God to come; that we would take God at his word and follow Him. Pray that Calvary Church would be a church that honors and respects God in our actions and our attitudes so that the God of goodness and holiness will “rise with healing in its wings”. (Malachi 4:2)

Ask God to do His will among us not only for His goodness but that His righteousness and holiness would come and change us. Pray that God would do a transforming work of righteousness in all of our lives that we might glorify his name and that the world might see we are different.

Pray that we would get back to right relationships in our families and begin to treat each other with respect and value. Fight against the lies and deception of the enemy and for the restoration and salvation of our loved ones and our marriages. Intercede for the fathers and the sons, mothers and daughters. Guard yourself in your spirit, and do not break faith. (Mal 2:16)

Pray that we would hear the word of the Lord with regard to tithing and not become offended. Pray also that we would be reminded daily that God is our source for all we need and the giver of good gifts.

Pray that we would dare to honor God with the tithe and not bow to fear. Pray for each person who committed to trust God for the next 6 months and to honor Him with a lifestyle of giving as an act of worship.

Pray that as we honor God we would begin to see the supernatural at work in our circumstances and the ministry of the church increased.


IN THE MIGHTY NAME OF JESUS, AMEN!
